  1. Schiff and Pelosi are the ones who should be concerned. It looks like the Republicans will force Schiff to testify under oath on his role with the whistleblower and his attorney (Zaid), and when the impeachment circus fails Pelosi will (once again) have explain to Dem supporters why they're so incompetent and aren't getting any real work done for the country.

If so, please explain exactly what the egregious crime was. Trump used poor judgement in the call, no question. But the Dems don't have enough to impeach. Which is why there was zero House votes from Republicans and 2 Democrats even voted against the inquiry. And there's no chance the Senate will support impeachment. The sooner Dem supporters realize this, the better. That said, I'll await your answers to my questions.

They'll vote to impeach and then get defeated in the Senate. Trump will remain in office and the damage done to the Dem's credibility will be massive. They're helping him for 2020 every step of the way.

I'll provide a legitimate thumbs up (as opposed to the meaningless recognition for literally anything anti-Trump you will get in the CNN echo chamber). But we'll have to disagree that this will end well for the Dems. It will a bigger let down for supporters than the Russia collusion debacle. Moreover, I don't see any erosion of support for Trump and the GOP. In fact, it's looking as strong as ever. For example, Kentucky getting a new Republican AG and a vote down the middle for the Governor. With only 8 electoral votes, it looks good for a reasonable showing in Kentucky for Trump 2020. And I think we can both agree that poll numbers are completely meaningless. Lastly, my original comment is factual. It looks like Schiff will be forced to testify if the House votes to impeach. And the whistleblower's laywer's tweets from 2017 about a "coup" and impeachment are making the whole Dem case very suspect.

  5.  @TheTardisNamedSexy ...Again, good points. Re Nixon's impeachment, let's remember that it received full bi-partisan support from day one. As did Clinton's, where 31 Democrats voted with House Reps to impeach. Conversely, this Dem circus is entirely partisan. It was doomed to fail from day 1. And you really set me up for the big question: Please explain what you think were Trump's "impeachable acts"? Please be specific and use facts, not hearsay and conjecture. While answering, please ensure you're comparing Trump's Ukraine call with Biden's admitted quid pro quo (and blatant abuse of power) and consider our agreement with the Ukraine on rooting out corruption. My questions are honest. I appreciate your knowledge of the situation and look forward to your answers.

There's some conjecture (particularly re Guiliani's motive/role) but it's still a reasonable view from a Dem supporter's perspective. However, your bottom line is where the entire process will fail. "Extortion" isn't even close to an apt description of what occurred. Trump used, at worse, poor judgement. I know he'll never admit it using those words, but that's what it was. More importantly, here's why the Dems will fail (and not just because they don't have the votes in the Senate): 1. They'll have to reveal under oath the timing of the role of the whistleblower vis a vis his previous interactions with Dem leaders and (especially) his lawyer's 3 year mission for a "coup" and impeachment. If there's anything pre-planned, the entire case will blow up in the Dem's face. 2. Mulvaney was 100% correct when he said "get over it" with respect to countries using foreign aid ("favors") as a tool. It's what Biden was doing, it's what Obama did on multiple occasions...and it's what all Democrats know is a reality. Clinton committed one of the worst possible acts for President (Perjury, with a Grand Jury no less) and still wasn't removed from office. The reason was the Senate knew he'd fu-ked up big time, but in no way should he be removed for the mistake. There's no way Trump's poor judgement is worse than perjury. And if by some massive stretch of logic he's removed from office, he'll simply run as an independent in 2020 and will annihilate both Republicans and Democrats in many parts of the country. Bottom line, I respect your knowledge of the issues. We'll simply have to disagree that there's an impeachable offense. If that changes in the coming weeks, I'll be the first to admit it. Thanks for the chat. It's exceedingly rare in the CNN anti-Trump echo chamber to come across people that can actually can have an effective debate on issues. I'm sure we'll chat again sometime down the road.
