Comments by "Hugh Jorgan" (@HughJorgan1) on "Florida voter: Trump's helping our economy grow" video.
The Obama era was the worst recovery from a recession in history and added about $10 Trillion to our national debt. Trump has reversed economy-killing Obama/Democrat policies and implemented tax reforms, deregulation, and corporate investment incentives that have lit a rocket under job growth and the economy. Best of all, under Trump the average middle class income level has risen at a historic rate (about $5,000 more per year).

@charlesmarilynbillington3532 ..The national debt is up under Trump. But the increase isn't close to the $10 Trillion added under Obama's administrations. Your concern for the debt is smart. I trust you don't support any of the "free" stuff promised by Warren, Sanders et al? For example, Warren's healthcare proposal is based on unicorn math and would add about $50 Trillion to debt over 10 years. Sander's unicorn math would add about $30 Trillion. Not to mention the cost of all the other "free" stuff and how Democrat policies would kill the economy on many levels. On Democrat healthcare promises...I'll ask you one honest question: would you support free healthcare for illegals?

Moses Lewis...Firstly, the claim the Trump economy was inherited or is on a "straight line" has been thoroughly debunked. We're succeeding due to Trump overturning many of Obama's economy-killing policies. As well, he's added new incentives and created a policy environment that's led to high consumer and corporate investment confidence. It's all led to historic corporate investment and job growth, along with other excellent economic indicators. Look it up. Secondly, the "only the rich benefit" talking point is a Democrat and CNN lie. In addition to the aforementioned $5,000 increase in middle class income levels, there's been a huge increase of people moving from the lower income classes into middle class. Again, look it up. Lastly, try to leave insults out of your comments. They're meaningless and diminish your opinion.

Shrinking on all fronts? Nope. Historic job growth and a historic increase to average middle class income levels of over $5,000 per year. To just mention a couple of many key indicators or the Trump Effect on our economy and quality of life. And not to digress, but Obama is best described as mixed race rather than black. His mother is white.

Billions still believe there's a "God". Brainwashing is alive and well.
1
soylentdean..The question about a God is exactly like the question whether there’s an invisible pink Unicorn in the sky who’s responsible for life and the universe. Is it “arrogant” for humanity to conclude anyone believing there’s a pink Unicorn in the sky is either brainwashed or delusional?

@Dean4511 ..There are indeed gaps in our knowledge. And there always will be. For example, we'll never know what existed before the big bang nor what will become of the universe in the future. But we do know our sun will eventually explode and obliterate this tiny rock and the entire solar system. But since that's many billions of years off, maybe we'll have figured out intersteller space travel by then...;) Bottom line, you're right that we don't have all the answers. But it's delusional to fill the gaps in our knowledge with fictional stories of a "God" (pick one). Or with an invisible Pink Unicorn in the sky.
1
@Dean4511 ..Just to be clear, are you claiming that's it's possible an invisible Pink Unicorn exists and could be responsible for life and the universe? (a serious question not intended to be condescending. I look forward to your answer)

@Dean4511 ....I'm glad you acknowledge that both God and Pink Unicorns are fictional stories. That's my central point. And I agree it's fascinating to think about the universe and ask questions. It's mind boggling to think about what we know...and even more so for what we don't know. Where we'll have to disagree is that you call it "arrogance" to use our existing knowledge to form conclusions on what's real, and what isn't. I call it being rational. Or to put it another way, not being delusional or superstitious. Thanks for the chat. I respect your ability to have an adult conversation on a serious topic without use of ad hominem or insults. It's very rare in a CNN comment section. All the best.

@Dean4511 ..Sorry, but that's a very confusing summary to your opinion...and one that I can't let go. Your central premise throughout the chat has been we just "can't know" about a higher power. You've said repeatedly that it's "arrogant" to think we do. Yet you're now contradicting that premise by claiming that God isn't fictional?! It's important you realize this is a massive contradiction to your previous points. One that makes your entire argument misleading and flawed. Moreover, you're now saying by inference (and a lack of an argument to the contrary) that an invisible Pink Unicorn in the sky isn't fictional! Again, a very confusing twist in your position. I hope you learn from our discussion to start with your true opinion rather than mislead. Since you think a God is possible, but an Invisible Pink Unicorn isn't, why not just say that up front. (But of course, you must then be prepared to answer exactly why the Pink Unicorn isn't plausible, while a God is.) Bottom line, I still respect your opinion and your ability to have an effective discussion. I encourage you to learn from our chat that the best possible argument in favor of the God superstition/delusion is to start with something you said in one of your comments: You "HOPE" your particular God story is true. "Hope" is all that those who believe in a God (pick one) have. It's exactly like the hope some delusional people have that there's an invisible Pink Unicorn in the sky. It's best to just admit to yourself that all you have is a lot of questions and a lot of hope. And I encourage you to take a different tact in your next chat with a non-believer of either a God, or a Pink Unicorn in the sky. Thanks again.
