  1. I agree with the charges. But I also think it's important to put this tragedy in perspective. The following statistics all just a simple google search away: 1. There's about 700,000 cops in America. Of those, about 1,200 are charged each year with crimes, including excessive force, racism, murder, fraud, etc. That means 99.9% of cops can be deemed good cops rather than bad cops. 2. Each year there's about 10 million arrest-related activities by cops (such as George Floyd's arrest). Using the aforementioned stat, 99.999% happen without charges to officers. Bottom line, the Minnesota cops actions were criminal...and I hope he serves time. But it's ludicrous to hate all police or think there's rampant racism or brutality based on .1% of cops and .0001% of arrests. C'mon people, we're smarter than this.

  3.  @stevsux4442 ..Fair points and I respect anyone willing to do a little research, thumbs up. We're both showing a bit of confirmation bias in the data we cite. I agree there could be a lot of cops who aren't charged with crimes because of cover ups. Heck, even the FBI enabled an illegal investigation into Trump and covered it up (Obamagate). But I digress. All I ask of people is look at the big picture. For example, let's assume there's another 10,000 cops that are "bad cops". That would still mean 98% are good. And it would still mean 99% of arrests are done correctly.

  4.  @FenrirInFlowers ..Great info, thanks. As I said in my original comment, I hope Chauvin serves time for murder. Where we'll have to disagree is on any suggestion there's a 'systemic" problem with racism in law enforcement. That claim is nothing but a massive generalization that can't be supported with facts. Again..there's about 700,000 cops. There will always be some bad cops. I prefer to focus on the 99% of good cops.

This word keeps getting thrown around (particularly by media, the left, and those with full-blown victim mentality). It has zero basis in facts and logic. How can an issue be deemed "systemic" based on .1% of cops?! Even if we make it 2% of cops or 10% of cops, it's STILL not "systemic". Not to mention there's thousands of cops who are minorities.
