With these figures, he is actually more unpopular at this point in his mandate than were either of his predecessors - François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy.

  3.  @a.v.k.9794  Interesting perspective. While I agree French voters are notoriously fickle I'm curious if you think they'd prefer a more right-leaning leader?

  4.  @MrZimpoppel  I hadn't seen your comment before replying to A v K. Thanks too for the perspective. I looked up le Pen's political strategies and see she made many policy moves that were more center-left than far-right. But clearly not enough.
