Your logic will fly over the heads of CNN viewers and Democrats.

It'll all be over soon. The Democrats have no case, and we all knew Trump was never going to be removed. This whole gong show is just the Dems playing political games and spitting on the Constitution in a lame attempt to influence the election. And they've failed. Trump is looking better than ever for his second term.

Problem is, there's no crime alleged. And worse for the Democrats, the Senate cannot (and will not) start doing investigations that should have happened in Congress. The fundamental mistake the Dems made in their gong show was not getting the SCOTUS to rule on witnesses and documents during the Impeachment inquiry process, which they've done in ALL previous impeachments. There's three key reasons the Dems didn't involve the SCOTUS: 1. They know Trump is protected by the Constitution and Executive Privilege. He was entirely within his powers to defy subpoenas. 2. They likely knew they'd lose their case (see # 1). 3. They didn't have time. The impeachment is a partisan political game (and an abuse of Congressional powers) intended to influence the election.

The Dems don't have a case, never have. So they've been on a fishing expedition the entire process. And they need to grandstand and lie as much as possible to their uninformed base. Trump has been very smart to leverage Executive Privilege and Separation of Power to prevent the Dems from continuing their gong show.

@bctopper ...You're repeating a CNN talking point. I ask you this simple question, and please answer honestly without first doing a Google search: Name one Trump lie that you think has hurt Americans or the country?

@bctopper ..Unknowingly, you've helped prove my point. The "16,000" lie narrative is ludicrous. It includes thousands of examples of Trump using hyperbole, exaggeration, or simply misspeaking. It also counts many of the same "lies" hundreds of times. There's no proven lie with respect to Iran. And the Obamacare example is more Trump talking off the cuff than deliberately trying to mislead (which I admit he's done many times). But since you brought it up, let's remember Obama's egregious lie on Obamacare, which became Politifact's "Lie of the Year" for 2013...."You can keep your doctor". That lie truly hurt Americans. And was one of the many reasons the Democrats got slaughtered in the 2014 midterms, and eventually lost to Trump's landslide electoral victory in 2016. Bottom line, the fact you couldn't think of a legitimate example of a "lie" that hurt the country is very telling. I encourage you to stop repeating Democrat and CNN talking point/propaganda. I'll also bet you think Trump called white supremacists "fine people" and called all Mexicans "rapists"? Both are lies..and are STILL often repeated by Democrat leaders, including Biden and Sanders recently. Seek facts my friend.
