  1. Nothing will be done regarding access to guns, or the types. The US is too politically and culturally stupid. Both parties bow to the multi-billion dollar gun industry. And there's still many who think words written in the 1700s (under a very different societal context) must be taken literally (the 2nd Amendment). The US passed the point of no return on its delusional gun culture decades ago. Everyone might as well arm themselves. And they might as well make every school into bunker-like buildings with 'panic rooms'. And give teachers access to assault weapons. Sound silly or extreme? Talk to any parent. Again, nothing will be done regarding access to guns. The US will always blame everything on mental illness or terrorism. They'll rationalize selling military-style assault weapons to 19 year old kids as 'sporting' or 'hunting' related. Yet won't let that same kid buy beer! Mind boggling.

  2. dnbeezy 00...Unfortunately, I sort of agree with you. As I said, the delusional gun culture in the US is irreversible. Even if guns sales were banned country wide tomorrow... it would have little or no effect. There's hundreds of millions in circulation (as you point out). However, a creative solution would be to start charging $1000 a bullet. Everyone would think twice before shooting! (This idea is stolen from a Chris Rock bit).
