She graduated with distinction in political science. She earned a doctorate with honors in law school. She's had a very successful career in political positions. That's far from being "incompetent".

@lynnwalters1213 That's a lot of hyperbole. Let's summarize: "vile, sick, demented, demon, evil, possessed, liars, cheats". I respect all opinions and your right to vent. That said, I prefer effective discussions on the issues. In that spirit, what do you think is the best approach to increasing border security? Personally, I think we need a permanent barrier along with enhanced technology. Such an approach would satisfy both the Dems and GOP supporters. But what do you think?

CNN is a bit like some of your media outlets. They cherry pick tiny parts of interviews or stories to serve their propaganda. Their goal is to influence public opinion based on their massive political bias. Therefore, they'll jump at any opportunity to embarrass and attack Republicans. Especially the President. It's important for those in other countries to remember CNN constantly provides lies and misinformation in their "news". About 20% of the time according to PolitiFact.

The border barrier is a monument to America's desire for national security and protection from illegal migrants, drugs, human trafficking, etc. It's highly illogical to fall for the propaganda and rhetoric saying it's anything else. Trump is simply carrying out America's desire for FAR better border security. The Dem's agree with this principle. And I'll remind you both Obama and Hillary wanted a permanent border barrier. I didn't think it was a 'monument to their ego' and looked at the big picture. I encourage you to do the same. .

CNN needs to be able to manipulate "news" for propaganda purposes. Therefore, they rely on cherry-picked stories, interviews and quotes. This supports their constant lies... and lies-by-omission. According to Politifact, CNN provides lies and misinformation about 20% of the time.

@lynnwalters1213 That's a very good comment... and I'll give you a legitimate thumbs up. I 100% agree venting can be a good thing. I also think it's important to look at the big picture and not lower ourselves to the petty politics and insults we're seeing from both sides. I wish you the best as well.

@charlieshort6394 ...You make many great points. And thanks for the interesting insights. I agree we should look at border security in terms of the areas most at risk. This is why I think a combination of a wall/barrier and technology is the best solution. The bonus is such an approach allows both the Dems and GOP to claim success. I could care less who gets credit. We need to solve the problem As well, I agree we need to legislate that those caught crossing the border are immediately sent back. Although Trump has eliminated the "catch and release" policy (a smart move) far more needs to be done to deter those who think illegally setting foot on US soil is the solution. Everyone must apply and get in line. As Trump has said repeatedly, all legal immigrants and asylum requests are welcome. I think we could all talk forever about our opinions of the integrity of politicians. Personally, I look at the big picture knowing we have egregious examples of lies and scandals from every President in our generation. What's most important is the state of the country. I don't agree with everything Trump and the Republicans do but think the country is on the right track. Since this is a CNN vid, I particularly appreciate logical and insightful comments such as yours. All the best.

@chrisparker3331 ..Good points. As I've said a few times in this section, I agree we need a combination of permanent barriers and use of technology. I'll also add an issue that hasn't been talked about much: the ability for animals to roam freely in remote areas. If there's a permanent barrier there'll need to be a way for animals to get through. Particularly along the Rio Grande, which comprises a massive stretch of the border.

@VSNxx I support a combination of both. A permanent barrier along with the use of technology. Neither solution will work in isolation. And I agree there's many stretches that don't need a barrier. It's all so simple. And both the Dems and GOP could claim success with a bi-partisan approach. I could care less who get's the credit for improving national security.
