They denied representation and witnesses for the defense. 3. They based the impeachment articles on a dislike for the President rather than actual crimes. 4. The impeachment was 100% partisan (unlike all past impeachments). And even worse for the Dems, the only thing bi partisan was the opposition to impeachment (3 Democrats voted against it)! 5. The ridiculous "Abuse of Power" charge could've been used against every past President. 6. The "Obstruction of Congress" charge is ludicrous and ignores Constitutional Separation of Power of the Executive Branch. The Dems would've needed the SCOTUS to rule to have any case. 7. Speaking of the SCOTUS, they've been involved in all past impeachments. 8. The Dems conducted an impeachment in search of a crime. I could go on. Bottom line, the Democrat's meaningless impeachment is DOA to the Senate. And if Pelosi tries to obstruct justice in the Senate, or make demands on their processes, she's even dumber than we thought.

I also remind you that the opposition to impeachment was bi partisan! That's how weak and ridiculous the Democrat's charges are. This circus hasn't earned any due process moving forward. The Dems lied, spat on the Constitution, abused Congressional power, and forever lowered the bar for impeachment to partisan politics and no crime! They need to be put out of their misery... and sent a clear message their treasonous activities aren't acceptable. We the people deserve better. Bottom line, the Dem's impeachment is nothing but a transparent attempt to influence the 2020 election. And they failed miserably. The polls show it. Trump's support is stronger than ever and he's looking excellent for a second term. The Republican controlled Senate will be entirely within their mandate to ensure the Dems can't lie, grandstand for their base, and spit on the Constitution any more.

  4. You clearly didn't watch the full speech. What's your view on McConnell completely destroying the Democrat's articles of impeachment? Please be specific, particularly as it relates to McConnell's irrefutable points on Constitutional Separation of Power and the role of the SCOTUS (which makes the Obstruction of Congress charge completely useless). And please be specific on your disagreement with McConnell's point that EVERY past President could've been impeached for "Abuse of Power" using the Democrat's logic. I look forward to your take on the facts under discussion, rather your hate for McConnell and Trump.

  5.  @aeolussvichi7680 ..Fair points, but please look at the root causes of this circus. The Democrats conducted a rushed, flawed, and entirely partisan process...based on no crime! They should've involved the SCOTUS, but didn't. They should've considered past precedents for impeachment, but didn't. They denied due process of the accused. They lied and misled the American public every step of the way. (please don't try to deny his fact). This led to a 100% partisan impeachment that is completely meaningless. So...everything that follows in the Senate is their fault, not the Republicans. It's important to look at this logically.

  6.  @canuckpilot4041 ..I respect the fact you actually took the time to read and respond logically. Very rare for a CNN comment section. Please re-read my Point #6. Trump is entirely within his rights to leverage separation of power. There's nothing "illegal" in the Executive Branch defying Congressional subpoenas UNLESS the SCOTUS determine that's the case. To be honest, I find it mind boggling there's still people who don't understand this fact. The Democrats rushed process ignored getting the SCOTUS involved, which ALL past impeachment have included (point #7). So..that blows the ludicrous "Obstruction of Congress" charge out of the water. And as McConnnell said for Point #5, the Abuse of Power charge isn't a crime! And worse for the Dems, it's a charge that could've been used against every past President. Bottom line, the Dems have no case..and they know it. This will go down in history as a meaningless partisan impeachment that exposed the Democrat's incompetence and lack of understanding of the Constitution and due process.

  9.  @Montesama314 ..There was no due process to the inquiry. Everything that happens next with regards to due process is entirely the fault of the incompetent Democrats. It's important you and all Dem supporters accept this fact. Listen to what McConnell said about all previous impeachments. The Dems have not only spit on the Constitution and Separation of Power, they've completely ignored legal precedents. Most importantly, the Articles of Impeachment don't involve a crime! The Democrats have already set a dangerous precedent with their Congressional abuse of power and 100% partisan impeachment. The Senate shouldn't make it worse by continuing the circus. That said...since Trump is playing chess while the Dems are playing checkers, maybe the Senate has a full trial...and calls Schiff, the Whistleblower, Biden's son, and the Whistleblowers lawyer. Would you support that?
