  1. ​ @Rationalific Crimea is part of the Russian Federation because it, the oblast, is primarily populated by Russians who were ill-treated by the Ukrainian regime that took over in 2014. The population actually voted to join the Russian Federation for protection, just as Donesk and Lughanst did shortly thereafter.
