  4. Yes, "the so-called Left" is more accurate. And what's the best descriptor for "the Right"???? (Yikes, eh?) For politicians in general I'd use "prostitutes" and "prostituting"... As a retired English teacher I'm disappointed I haven't heard that term yet. Words matter.
