  20. Not only was there a big middle class in the 50's through mid-70's, they often owned boats (and water skied), but had longer vacations in which they took their little trailers to the beach. Mom stayed home and sewed and baked. That was my childhood and I'm so blessed to have experienced it. And we were lower middle class!!!
