The actual reason for the 13 colonies' revolt was because the king refused to countenance further expansion into the Indian lands. Sorry, but all the rest is pure propaganda made up to satisfy our longing for sweet, simple stories in which we're the heros. Same crap we're being asked to swallow today.....
