For interested students here is the actual arithmetic … A … UK emissions per year = 400 million tons (gov.uk) B … CO2 required to increase global temperature by one degree C = 1 million million tons (IPCC) Divide A by B to get the reduction in global temperature if UK achieved Net Zero. Answer; 0.0004 degrees Centigrade per year. That’s four ten-thousandths of one degree C per year. California is also 0.0004 … Australia 0.0005 degrees C per year. The idea that NetZero can achieve anything wrt climate is clearly false … delusional.

On 21st September the professor is protesting the lack of Critical Thinking in Government. On 25th September he is declaring that CO2 is the greatest threat we face … Hmmm 🤔.. 😂

@Redf322 ; And yes … I don’t like being played, especially when resources are short … Climate depends on dizzying, complex and dynamic mix of forces: solar cycles, ocean currents, water vapour, Milankovitch cycles, cyclical variations in cloud cover, continental drift, cosmic radiation, and on and on … bla, bla, bla … The idea that carbon dioxide is THE control knob on the climate is a monumental deception … BUT… Control Freak politicians find it very, VERY useful.

Carbon dioxide is all but irrelevant within that dynamic mix but what sets it apart is that, unlike all these other forces, shining a big spotlight on CO2 makes it politically useful).
