  1. There were 31 baby deaths on that neonatal unit in the 2 years Letby was there - she was present for 7 of them. The unit handled many very premature babies … deaths were not uncommon. She was a scapegoat for a filthy, understaffed unit.

  4. There is no hard evidence that she killed them at all. If being present when lots of deaths occurred makes her a murderer then half the nurses in the NHS are murderers.
