If was a nurse I would NEVER work on a ward where people die - not after this case.

Nurses don’t have to work on the front line - on a ward. There are loads of ‘back room’ jobs that don’t carry the risk. Let us the suppose the chance of you being accused of murder, because you were ‘there’ when somebody died, is tiny, tiny, tiny. But if, by some unfortunate situation, it happens … Then you get IMPRISONED FOR LIFE. Now - as in RIGHT NOW, as a nurse on a ward where people die … What are you gonna do ???

@lesley9989 It’s not complicated … The chance of being falsely accused of killing patients is tiny. It is highly unlikely. But the Consequence, if it happens, is life imprisonment. Therefore I would not work where patients die. Nurses are now quitting neonatal precisely for this reason.

@dianecameron137 ; Imagine your premature, high risk baby dying in an under resourced, dirty NHS ward and you are so distraught you celebrate a nurse being imprisoned for life. Only to realise years later that she, like so many others, was desperately doing her best for your child in an impossible situation.
