  3. John Wildish ; The clown who forecast that rediculous number was Prof Neil Ferguson and he has resigned. Ostensibly for breaking the lockdown rules but it is obvious he has actually been sacked for being a total idiot. He was also responsible for the unnecessary slaughter of 4,000,000 British cattle during the mad cow desease fiasco.

  4. Nick M ; I heard that too. They could tell us the number of deaths actually caused by COV 19 every day but they hardly ever do. I wonder why not. Not scary enough? Not sensational enough?

  7. Great, trust the data. So where is the data that shows lockdown saves lives? There is none. Lockdown just delays the deaths of those who are very frail sick or old. But there is plenty of data that lockdown is destroying the economy. Trash the economy and it will be the poorest who suffer most.

If the virus brought forward the deaths of people who were very frail or critically ill; that is people who were near the end of their lives anyway, then those people are now dead and that is the hump in May and June. So now we should see a slump in curve below the average as time goes on over the next 6 months or so.

  9. We had a massive lockdown in March - if lockdown worked there would be no Covid now - and no colds or flu either!!! Lockdowns do unfathomable damage for very little effect.

  10. B D ; it is very clear they are trying to scare us. Check out the graph at 4.00 the numbers on the left start at 6000 to overemphasise the impact of COV 19. It wouldn't look half so bad if the chart started at zero like it should.

  11. It is blindingly obvious that media is trying to make things look worse - Take a look at the graph of xs deaths at 4.00 See how it starts at 6000 not zero. That is deliberate to make the increase at week 15 look much worse than it really is.

  12. Recent lockdown in Oldham has had no lasting effect on current case level. So now government are talking about a nationwide lockdown. Yeh that makes perfect sense.

  16. Andy P ; BTW, the primary purpose of flight safety regs is to drive Engineering standards in the industry to the very peak of excellence. Underlined, I might add, by crippling legal repercussions if an Aerospace Engineer causes the death of even one passenger or flight crew due to even the most minuscule of error... we talking fractions of a percent. Meanwhile, Neil-Half-a-Million-are-going-to-die-Ferguson totally ignores innate immunity and causes hundreds of unnecessary deaths from cancer and makes millions unemployed and he totally gets away with it.

  17. Andy P ; It’s all a bit academic and irrelevant anyway since there won’t be an aerospace industry for much longer. Once current orders are fulfilled that’s it. Finished. Who’s going to order new aircraft when there are thousands of them mothballed and nobody’s flying?

It is just a shame the media has to sensationalise everything - see how the graph of xs deaths at 4.01 starts at 6000, not zero, to make the increase look more dramatic. All his other charts start at zero! It will be interesting to see if xs deaths goes below average after the virus abates.
