I am 93 and live alone in a small 2 bedroom house. I walk everywhere with a walker. I sold my car. I go swimming twice a week. I swim over arm 10 lengths. There is a gym in that building and I go there 3 times a week. Once a week I go to the supermarket. The groceries fit into my walker. Washing goes in the machine. I hang it outside or in the garage. The afternoons are for hobbies. I do a lot of colouring in adult colouring books. I do a lot on my iPad like lectures. I wish all people who are old like me to have peace of mind. We can’t see them but all around us are angels watching over us. We are never alone. Love you all. Christchurch, New Zealand❤️

Thank you for all the replies. I hadn’t expected that. See, we are not alone. Beside the angels I mentioned there is a bunch of us making it on our own. I grew up during world war 2 in the Netherlands/Holland and emigrated to New Zealand 60 years ago. I wish you all the best. Don’t give up. Johanna Butler Christchurch New Zealand❤️

@ Sorry about your sciatica. Water exercise is great. Try: Before getting up out of bed for some people it helps to hug knees against chest for a few minutes. This stretches the back. Don’t give up. You can do it, Johanna❤️

@ Oh you are so right. There is a lot of suffering amongst old people. Sickness and pain and financial hardship and loneleness. I know that I am privileged. I had 2 jobs until I was 80. I had a hard life. I am grateful .

what I didn’t mention: once a week I have a 14 year old school girl come to my house for violin lessons. I teach her for free. We are doing Suzuki violin method book one.
