  2. I did a workshop in computer network and was amazed to find that most of the internet (+80% sites and servers) use Linux... And it is mindblowing simple and works beautifully well. Better than Microsoft or Apple.

  15. You did not need a study to prove this. We see it everyday. Still, I don't believe money makes you mean. I believe mean people get more money. You get to #1, not by being better than, but by reducing, inferiorize or destroying #2. Like a friend of mine once said: "Money doesn't change people, it reveals then".

  16. This is simply Racketeering.The problem is that (like everything else in America) jails are a bussiness. For jails to be profitable there must be criminals. To have criminals there must be crime. And if there is no crime then they must "criminalize" social behaviour... Specially from those who are unneducated and/or cannot afford to defend their rights. Ence, this state of things.

  21. I think this would be really useful for something like Google Earth. You could "walk" thru a street, a merket, or location, and ear, not only a melody from the place/country, but also the "urban" sounds that are there (people talking, sellers, cars, birds, dogs, etc).

  34. No. Payment is low. E.g.: Hollywood CG blockbusters pays minimum wage to graphic artists worldwide working on triple A movies. Studios open and close everytime and artists travel (sometimes) worldwide to get a job, same goes for musicians and sound design. Lead directors/composers in the industry can survive quite well, but the bolk of the work is still done by new/naive/underpayed staff. There is a Documentary about the studio that did "Life of Pi" (who won an Oscar, while the people that worked on it where protesting outside) but had to file for bankrunpcy.

Nuclear bombs, bio-weapons, epidemics, global warming, a new ice age, the shifting of the magnetic field, zombie uprising and even alien invasion...all were seen has the end of the world scenarios, yet no one suspected the smiley man coming to shake hands giving you everything in exchange for nothing. The world nearly ended because us (me included) have a dark seed in our hearts that tells us that we need to be above the rest. Our human greed is our greatest enemy...and we need to stop it.

  37. Tuff crowd... This is a really great, great idea. I have been trying to expand my languages and have found asian or arabic to be very hard, not so much in speech, but in structure and characters because they are very diferent from my native language. But with this... This is awesome!

  39. My God! America is actually learning something! lol Joking aside, I think we are heading for a middle term. Dictatureships need flexability. And democracies need rules. My only concern is that this is only being done for profit and NOT for the individual wellbeing. The human evolution needs a better path than that.

I believe the real problem in 'merica is that they criminalized too many human behaviors (searching food, clothes, shelter, etc.) and do not do a good job at preventing such states (some even call it socialism, and fear it). This is, however, a really great tool for law & order. I sure hope they can implement it and expand it over the next years, or it is the young who will pay the price.

  46. I really love these types of projects. i wish I could work for such a company designing prostethics for kids, creating designs like Ironman, or LOR elvish-like, or other cartoon cooler designs that children wouldn't be afraid or teased for using. Instead they'll be "that's so cooll" :)

  50. This guy said more in 4 minutes then others (in TEDtalks - also) do in 20. The other guy may have saved the dog, but he's not here.... The guy who got the shoes is. Brilliant!
