My oldest aunt (in her forties) has 2 children, one female (12 y.o) and one male (8 y.o), she is financially independent (she's a dentist) with her husband (Computer Programmer)
My mother, (39 years old) has both me (13 y.o) and my little brother (7 y.o), and she's financially independent with her husband (my father), (both are doctors)
My Younger Aunt (34 years old) has 3 children, 1 girl and 2 twin boys, she is financially independent (she is a dentist) alongside her husband (he is an engineer)
My Youngest Aunt (21) has just finished university and is now an HR consultant in a government building, she is yet to leave her mother's (my grandmother's) house.
The Total Count is 7 Children, and that's not counting the Aunts and Uncles from my Father's Side, This is coming from Iraq, where it's supposed to be a "backwards, chaotic, third world nation", and each of my aunts are financially comfortable and we're all happy and all of my cousins, me and my little brother go to school with almost no problems with finances.
Compared with before having us, They are now much more financially independent than ever. I don't know if the west is different, but this is coming from a place that is supposed to be "backwards" and "poor" and "doesn't give a frick about women"

And no, none of us work in "farms" or "cotton fields", we're all having comfortable lives as of 2011-2024.

@MariaRodriguez-dx6sm actually, my grandmother had 4 kids (my oldest aunt, my mother, my younger aunt, my youngest aunt), and it was in the period between 1985-2001, which is supposed to be a time period when people started to stigmatize having a lot of children.
And it wouldn't be like that, My grandmother has told be that the way some families have 8 children is because the Older children are actually the ones that are responsible for and parent the Younger ones, so it wouldn't "you'll be responsible for 8 kids", it would be you and your older kids would be responsible for 4 kids.
As for the expense, the reason why people back then had 8 kids was because back then, things were either Cheaper due to the Economy being Stable and Not a lot of wage competition was there as the Main Workers in the Workforce were Men meaning that corporations would give them higher salaries due to Worker amounts being lower than now (because women entered the workforce at large amounts which doubled the workforce and thus split the Wages), Or having children would make someone gain money (as in the case of making the children work in a family's farm when they turn 14 or 15)
