@olgatomenko1828 Populism bad. Nationalism bad. But isn't populism how elections are decided? And isn't nationalism a concern for one's nation? I'm not up on all the hep cat views on what terms mean and why they're bad.

Seems kind of odd to have the mighty EU rely on obscure loopholes. Is that union sustainable?

@leod-sigefast The average anyone on the street couldn't care less about international or even domestic affairs. The average person has limited time and they prefer to spend it on activities like watching sports teams or other material on TV shows.

Joe Biden has always been a loud mouth career politician, and Obama had to reign in his mouth when he was VP and picked Hillary to jump ahead. Biden's commitment to "values" led to him picking an identity-based running mate who turned out to be grossly incompetent. Now that he's pardoned his son who now sells paintings to mystery buyers (prices may have dropped), perhaps they will be satisfied with the profits on the sales of influence.

The EU seems to want to emulate the United States. But the states are as different as the American states before the Civil War. The UK dropped out because it didn't want to be told to open its borders to immigrants that Merkel had invited in. Poland has a similar attitude. And then the EU has the rogue members who hold out to get concessions. Not seeing the cohesion needed to act as one. But I'm just a dumb American.
