5:39 The history of incremental decision-making is embarrassing. 31 tanks to counter Russia is an insult to Ukraine and a humiliation to Americans.
80
Too many Americans treat selection of leadership as though it's professional sports. Some even think cheating is acceptable to keep the other side from winning.
23
Hodges hasn't been reserved or abbreviated in his military advice. Those in charge think they're smarter because they're lawyers who took international relations and political science in college.
19
Anna's first fundraiser set a record for meeting its (relatively modest) goal in the least time. Of course, Jake's two campaigns were nothing less than astounding. I have heard the phrase "donor fatigue." Being tired is not a luxury any of us can afford.
17
Not enough are talking about the treatment of Ukrainian POWs and photos of how some have been starved to skeletons.
14
@christineladanchuk2626 That last part would be incorrect. Zelensky saved Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, at least for now.
13
All of Europe needs to remove the kill switches and stock up on parts. American gear is tangled with political strings.
11
This lack of "permission" is forcing the Ukrainians to do other things. In other words, evade the designs of "escalation managers."
11
Putin is encouraged, aided, and comforted by our strategic incompetence.
8
Were Hodges in the military he wouldn't be able to criticize the President.
7
Others work hard. But Denys kept working when he broke his arm. That's medal territory.🎖
7
@AgatBluvsky-ow9gp And don't forget about the satellite lasers taking out Ukrainian troops along with the mutant gators lying in wait it the ditches.
7
@frankmiller95 Not Milquetoast? Because Milley talks about negotiation and makes predictions about the great difficulty of taking Crimea. Doesn't seem committed to complete eviction of the torturers and it's curious.
7
Professor Gerdes Explains is another channel that raises funds while generating massive content on Ukraine every day. The channel is surprisingly small (for now).
6
I never noticed that. I think Jake thrives on his work.
5
Don't blame Joe. It's Jill and Jake Sullivan.
5
@Digital_Griffin That's classic, along with asking "how do you know for sure?"
5
Trump talks to anyone with money. He's transactional. Like a street walker is transactional. He likes money to feel important. Loves to talk with fellow money grubbers. Wants people to buy his crypto coin.
5
Not convinced they have the culture or people to make capitalism work.
5
9:59 This is a critical question. Is Russia really dependent on parts from Iran to make Shahed drones?
5
I think Professor Gerdes Explains is also hard working. Curates lots of stories in a very brief format. Of course, Denys is special. Understands Russian and has the perspective of a Ukrainian who fearlessly shares his opinions.
4
With the new regime in Russia, sanctions should be gradually lifted while taxing their exports for decades of reparations.
4
Curious about Taiwan's rare earths and what deals are on the table to defend them.
4
Trump has a plan for his real estate developments and his bit coin. Needs investors and a cease fire to restart oligarch bidness.
4
No question. But nothing is irreversible when it comes to American policy.
4
Listen more often. There are many others that match or exceed the level of this analysis.
4
Keep in mind that the troops lost were "undesirables."
3
And based on the treatment of my ancestors, I'm owed reparations!
3
@9iht6ihgt43rzhijj Nothing to win. Alexander was the last European to conquer Afghanistan.
3
She smiles at the end. Very well spoken and naturally beautiful.
3
Joe Biden has demonstrated poor judgement in other candidate selections.
3
NATO's mission is strictly defensive. Please say NATO countries.
3
Underappreciated is a relative term. Compared to funny husky videos, yes.
3
Those who said destroying Russian refineries would raise the price of oil or gasoline in the U.S. should have been fired. Embarrassing for us regular Americans with a basic grasp of supply and demand and how oil gets turned into fuel.
3
Wish I could see all the titles on his bookshelf.
3
Jake predicted earlier effects of sanctions (perhaps underestimating greed in the world) and, like all of us, put hope in the plan for GLSDBs which didn't pan out. I'm not convinced that Trump would be able to cease aid to Ukraine, especially when there's money to be made by American corporations. I've been an observer of the world since I was 6 and Jake offers deep analyses that others don't see.
3
All kids should be trained in firearms safety.
3
@danhove We definitely WILL do worse.
3
Certainly not surplus that can't be sold elsewhere. Trump is blowing a sweet deal for defense contractors.
2
He does not weary because he has trained himself to be strong of mind and aware of mission.
2
The probability of a nuclear first strike by Putin is not reduced by a feeble, incremental supply of weapons to Ukraine. There's a good reason for everything and then there's the real reason. Is there a concern about weakening Russia in Syria?
2
@ajdoshka God is away on business in another galaxy cluster. Earth's problems are for us to solve.
2
@Stephenvguerra Can't send boots on the ground because the Gaffemaster blurted that out in an unnecessary declaration of unilateral disarmament early on.
2
The Russian summer offensive may look like Pickett's charge at Gettysburg.
2
Trump is not sane but that doesn't mean he can't make money.
2
Many Russians went to Israel.
2
Look at our Presidents. Were they this smart, educated, and articulate? Stop insulting the man. Mark Twain for President! Thomas Edison for President!
2
Ukraine will import steel already made into might weapons. Russia's need for coal will be overwhelmed by its need for oil fuel to move.
2
Perhaps we don't understand the kinks of the elites?
2
You have to hand it to the Russians when it comes to pure audacity and unfounded optimism. They're circling the drain but bragging about how fast they're going. Whee!
