Jake predicted earlier effects of sanctions (perhaps underestimating greed in the world) and, like all of us, put hope in the plan for GLSDBs which didn't pan out. I'm not convinced that Trump would be able to cease aid to Ukraine, especially when there's money to be made by American corporations. I've been an observer of the world since I was 6 and Jake offers deep analyses that others don't see.

An awful lot of guesswork about both candidates. Yes, Trump has rejected Plan 2025 but hasn't commented on the Pompeo plan. Trump may not like sanctions but actually does like tariffs, which are essentially sanctions that pay rent, and he excitedly talks about that revenue. Harris hasn't indicated any stance on Ukraine that might differ from the current Sullivan policy. Looks as though both of them can get away without talking concretely about Ukraine.

Trump has said two things. 1) The invasion wouldn't have happened had he been President and 2) He could end the conflict in 24 hours. The first is an unprovable counterfactual and the second lacks meaningful details (in other words he wants voters to buy a pig in a poke).
