You're in Florida, of course alligators are in ponds and you should always be careful. Maybe she shouldn't have been living alone, son. I'm sick of families that pretend they're "only bringing lawsuits so that no one else has to go through this again," when that's not only a like...he wants money...but also a logical fallacy. What if she fell in and drowned? Would you sue over that, too, since there are no warning signs? Take some personal responsibility, and shut all of these lawyers up, they're like locusts, a plague on the earth and this one's nothing but an ambulance chaser.

@sandyjuntunen4088 Wrong. It's FL, alligators can climb back in anytime, and they will. You're confusing two issues, everyone has an 'option.'

EVERYONE wants some freedom, but freedom is not free, it requires one to be free safely and without encroaching on others' rights. Old people especially of this age are rarely able to take care of themselves, or she wouldn't have been grabbed by an alligator, now would she?

@EB-gt1pq Irrelevant, it's not an assumption, a lot of elders want to live alone and still drive, but it's just not safe for them anymore than going hiking for mushrooms alone in winter, so their 'freedom' doesn't trump society's needs at all. The eviction is wrong unless it's in the contract, and she could've fought it anyway.
