  1. Hot and cold. Laughed out loud a few times. Started out funny, and then they had to bring in the subplots and soap opera stuff. I liked how the title character was empowered by bugs, though it seems like a big bug should give more power than a little bug. Meh, it was a good plot device. The worst part for me was Cage's portrayal and accent, especially under that gore makeup; it was cliched and hard to hear at points. Some good effects, but too few. I'm always laughing to see how martial arts fight choreography somehow seems to be used by everyone anymore; aliens, demons, angels, vampires, cultures throughout history (Xena), the list goes on and on. Not all have such excessive gore, of course, that always cheapens a movie for me. The cop lady was totally miscast, I thought, and the F-bombs flew far too much; but the police station was a joke. No way she's at the top of her class, though.
