  1. She says we can't really change the color of dentin but yet somehow peroxide in whitening products change the color of dentin and denatures the proteins? Enamel is supposed to be clear but over years of eating and drinking microscopic food particles and microscopic plaque become stuck/lodged within the microscopic pores of enamel giving teeth a more yellow/brown appearance. Peroxide oxidize these microsopic particles and since most oxidized molecules become white in color teeth appear more white.
