  2.  @Nan-59  such a tragedy, people are being driven away from teaching because of gun violence. And all the children learning "active shooter drills" is just heartbreaking. It doesn't have to be this way. From 1994-2004 there was a decade of significantly reduced gun fatalities due to semiautomatic weapons being illegal. That legislation needs to be passed again.
