@selfaware3940 No, TIK should press charges. That person committed plagiarism, which is a crime in Brazil; he did it for profit, which makes the crime worse. If prosecuted, he will have to at least pay TIK the money he made from the video, plus a fine, and possibly 2+ years of jail time.

Espero que o TIK faça uma denúncia pras autoridades brasileiras, e que o malandro tenha que pagar por tudo que lucrou + danos morais, e pegue cadeia.

There are plenty of idiots already posting in the comments, defending the scammer. Such is the curse of being a Brazilian, they'd rather defend a fellow criminal just to score a "win" against a foreigner.
2
Brazil does have laws against plagiarism. If TIK pursues legal action, Historiou will have to hand over all revenue from that video, plus moral damages, and could go to jail for 2+ years.

How does that help? Do you think he would not have stolen the content if it had a copyright notice? Do you walk in a ghetto with a "robbing is illegal, don't rob me" t-shirt?

But then he'd have to share profits. Criminals don't like sharing the booty.

Brazil has a law against plagiarism, in the Brazilian Penal Code, Article 184. It prescribes 2 to 4 years of imprisonment, fines and more. The fact this plagiarism was made for profit, makes things even worse for the criminal. All TIK has to do is to make an official report to Brazilian authorities; he should seek legal advice on how to best do it from the UK.

Please do look for legal counsel. Plagiarism is a crime in the Brazilian penal code, article 184. Since he profited from it, it gets even worse. You can take the profits from his crime, plus restitution for your legal costs. You've asked us Brazilians to do something; unfortunately, if you don't make a legal accusation against him, the plagiarist can actually sue us for defamation. The Brazilian justice is very flawed, often criminals get to sue people for denouncing their crimes.

TIK should press charges, so the scammer will have to share 100% of the revenue with TIK. And will have a couple of years of free time, so he can actually read the books and start making content once he's out of prison.

Also a national crime, prescribed in Article 184 or the Brazilian Penal Code. Plagiarism for profit makes the crime even worse.

That's why I recommend TIK to purse legal action. Plagiarism is a crime in Brazil, with 2 to 4 years of jail time. The scammer losing his channel isn't punishment enough, he can easily build up another one by plagiarizing again.

Plagiarism is a crime in Brazil, and is aggravated when done for profit. Minimum jail time is 2 years. That will teach him.

What? If you steal 1 million dollars from the bank, get caught, and now you get to split 50/50? No, you get to return 100% and you go to jail. Plagiarism is a crime in Brazil, and the criminal may have to pay a fine in addition to handing over all revenue to TIK, before going to jail for 2+ years.

@tomwright9904 He may hire someone to translate it, now that he knows there's a market. But it definitely won't be Historiou.

Only the copyright owner (that means TIK himself) can make a copyright claim. He should go further and report to Brazilian authorities. Plagiarism is a crime in Brazil (Article 184 of the Penal Code), and when done for profit, jail time is almost guaranteed.
1
Article 184 of the Brazilian Penal Code says you're wrong. Plagiarism IS a crime.

No, press charges to confiscate the money illegally earned, and put him in jail.
