Fight for her own life? She was released the same night it wasn’t some horrible life threatening gsw. It obviously didn’t hit an artery because even with the tourniquet she would’ve been bleeding out. She freaked out over the taser shocking her because SHE CHOSE to reach into the vehicle with the active probes and chains. Rather than pulling out her gun at that point. I’m sorry but between the lack of training and experience on her part and lack of attempting to save her partner (which BCSO lied about that night saying she did everything she could when she didn’t) this ended in tragedy. Could have been avoided in so many ways. Could have waited for backup before mentioning the weed. Could have asked him to turn off the ignition and hand over the fob or place it on the dash. Could have just punched up once in the face real good instead she wanted to keep using her hands when he had the true advantage. I have never liked Kenny DeHart I’m glad I won’t ever have to see him strutting around like he owns Blount county but it should never have come to this.

BCSO needs to do better with their academies, training just everything. Kenny DeHart the way you had the audacity to give a big fat I told you so I hope you’re real cozy in jail right now getting what you deserve 🤬

@Ena48145 she’s really young and hasn’t been trained. Guarantee you if this happened in East Knox it would’ve been handled a lot differently by officers that are trained in a better academy and have FTO around these scenarios constantly 🤦🏻♀️

Defend himself? Lmao all he had to do was comply with getting out of the vehicle but being a convicted felon already having a hand gun on him he knew he was screwed. He wasn’t defending himself. He was trying to escape a law he knew he was breaking from previously breaking laws. Get with the program.
14
@Ena48145 and yes I feel horrible for that old lady she was definitely in shock from it. Kudos to the man with her for helping Eggers but more should have been done for McCowan period. Wrongful death lawsuit in the making.
14
@brandonpowe4416 and? What gave him the right to fire shots exactly? He should have complied but didn’t because he knew if he exited that vehicle he was going away for a long time having that weapon on him when he was already a felon. Not once did he have a reason to “fear for his life “ they had a taser on him and another with hands on him who is literally a fraction of his size give me a break. They should’ve drawn their actual handguns the moment the taser was ineffective and he continued to fight.
14
@bb3585 you’ve literally already said that on another comment 🙄 I call it like it is sorry if that hurts your feelings. I’m 100% against Kenny DeHart and absolutely infuriated that once again another LEO has died in East TN but again this could have been avoided
13
@FedUpAmerican lmao years of it becoming more political and desperation hires due to decreased applicants with the lack of pay nah bro I’m good 🤣 sorry some of you can’t handle the cold hard facts and want to use this “arm chair” reference without even knowing who you’re talking to, what they do or have done. If people would quit being so sensitive and look at the facts before getting so mad we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
12
Fraudulent arrest? Prayers for his girlfriend who has had the crap beat out of her multiple times yet stayed with him anyway? And then protected him after he took a life? Okay 👌🏼
11
@truhoudini4559 you’re not very bright are you?
11
@brandonpowe4416 what do you think he used to shoot Eggers and McCowen? Whether it was physically on him (concealed in his clothing) or vehicle he knew if he exited that vehicle they’d find it either A) on him or B) inside the vehicle.
10
Cops had a taser pulled out and he responded with lethal force shooting one dead and one in the leg. How exactly does that add up? He’s a convicted felon had a gun on him already which was illegal if the police suspected that they had every right to tell him to get out of the vehicle which he refused. You’re probably guilty of a few violations yourself to be talking like that ⭐️

@truhoudini4559 literally one of the most ignorant comments so far on here
8
@honeyplug from the time DeHart drove off to the time he fully quit moving over 1.5 minutes passed. That’s inexcusable. Period. He was verbal when he got shot and continued to move his upper extremities with no one by his side.
8
@chrisc2683 I get that I do but no life saving attempts made and leaving him lying on the ground like that makes me sick. Especially given the fact that sheriff berrong claimed in the press conference that deputy Shelby administered life saving efforts and did all she could. She didn’t even touch or get close to him. Could she have done much with her injury probably not but I stand by my beliefs that enough was not done for McCowan to save his life or support/comfort him. I’d be appalled if that was my family member laying on the ground after having a verbal reaction to being shot and clearly still moving their upper extremities for over 1.5 minutes on the ground with NOTHING and NO ONE by their side except for that older lady God love her heart who was probably in shock from seeing him like that.
8
This guy has gone comment happy on several posts regarding Kenny DeHart either he knows him and has done “business” with him or he’s just another anti cop robot wanting attention.
8
@mason5540 it wasn’t stolen he was using his girlfriend (baby mamas) vehicle to haul drugs back and forth. He was driving like an idiot on sevierville road which is a two lane (state highway) narrow with several curves but what do I know. The original commenter must know it all right? 😆
8
@truhoudini4559 literally one of the most ignorant comments on here so far
7
Maybe law enforcement got tired of him pistol whipping his girlfriend, selling drugs to adults(and minors) and being a dirt bag in general. He failed to maintain lanes driving like a fool then refused to get out of his vehicle which doesn’t surprise me because he’s thought he’s untouchable all these years walking around like he owns Blount county. It’ll catch up to him watch and see
7
@justforfun1511 clearly these deputies did not receive enough training to prevent it from escalating to the point of being shot. Taser didn’t work and neither one of them pulled out their guns? Taser is deployed and Eggers completely stepped away standing there just to get on her radio to say taser deployed? At what point was she going to pull out her gun and point it at DeHart commanding him to get out of the vehicle which would have given McCowan a better opportunity to get him out of the vehicle? Instead he held his taser the entire time and she did nothing but shuffle hands with DeHart. Period.
6
Was your nose present at the scene to determine the odor of weed? Just curious since you know so much.
5
Cool story bro
5
@Mental_Illboy I think you have that a little reversed seeing as one is still alive and just fine in prison (wow a few scrapes and bruises) and one is in a coffin 6’ underground. You’re ridiculous
4
@tlims1974a I never claimed to be a know it all. Simply pointing out facts if you can’t handle that sorry not sorry.. And I take that reference of you having several law enforcement family members lightly because what department/where they work makes a huge difference.
4
@anthonythompson9471 I can’t even stop laughing at all your comments bro you’re probably the bald guy sitting next to the girl boo hooing after deharts court appearance. ✌🏼
4
@bhumphries1360 you realize there is a block button for users so you don’t have to see their comments right? Keyboard warrior lmao what are we in middle school? Jeez. Don’t like what I have to say move on
3
@BabyJesus-nz4nm yep… a lot of people have read my comments and misinterpreted them thinking I’m anti police which is completely false and I am sick and tired of it. Moats MPD, Blakely KCSO, McCowan BCSO. Only reason I’m not mention the ladder incident is because the other three were all GSW not (avoidable) accidents. It needs to stop. Period.
3
@anthonythompson9471 I don’t report comments I don’t have thin skin like some 😂
3
@Bettlesnap156 only danger allemander has encountered is his body odor and risk of his motorized scooter battery going dead a mile away from his house which like a 5k to him
2
The fact he was driving like that no officer or deputy in their right mind would allow someone to drive along away from it at that point. With that being said it could have been handled differently without it leading to a deputies death and another injured. It was all handled very poorly and escalated more than it should have if they had proper training.
2
@tgrip9398 when the presence of weed or alcohol odor is present they have probable cause to search a vehicle whether FST is done or not. They don’t have to request him to comply with FST first in order to search the vehicle. A lot of people have gotten mad at me on here tonight for simply pointing out facts about the lack of training BCSO has. They definitely over step boundaries at times but this was not the case on this one and when he was putting up that much of a fight they should have put the tasers away and drawn their guns. But lack of training mixed with adrenaline is a recipe for disaster 😞
2
@elietvane7 and I respect that as well and appreciate you debating this rather than making one of us right or wrong. This video absolutely needs to be used in the academies as well as training for new and existing officers.
2
There’s several ways it could have been avoided. Better training academy and FTO. Not tipping him off at the smell of weed without backup there. Instead of her trying to pull him out while her partner is holding a taser why didn’t she pull out her gun at that point when he’s clearly going to physically fight back. There is soooo much wrong with this video!!!!! BCSO should honestly be ashamed as much as Kenny DeHart should be ashamed.
2
@kenshannonheater3923 she shouldn’t have even been reaching in the vehicle at that point for multiple reasons. They didn’t know if he was armed, car was still running he could have floored it while dragging her with it and the fact she got herself tased by entangling herself with him while the probes were still on DeHart and chains active!!!!!
2
@jasonguy5702 if she suspected a gun she should have drawn her weapon at that point and exactly never been in the car. He could have drove off dragging her with it 🤦🏻♀️ training, training, training!!!!!!!!!! BCSO failed these deputies. They have got to improve their academies and training period.
2
Idk maybe the fact he was driving like an idiot, speeding, known drug dealer especially in the wildwood area. Theres several reasons someone like Kenny DeHart could be pulled over anyone from Blount county could assure you of that one.
2
@j.daniels1548 i have yet to see him drive the speed limit around here. He drives like an idiot period. So no it doesn’t surprise me one bit that he would be pulled over for that.
2
@j.daniels1548 ok well I can explain to you why “thus far” the video hasn’t been released is because it’s an ongoing open investigation while he’s still on the run like a coward. But go on with your sheep mentality along with the minority crying out for the video to be released so you and pick and choose what you want from it to satisfy your own beliefs.
2
@j.daniels1548 “we have a right to know it all” mentality spoken like a true liberal right there.
2
@erismana2105 🤔 I’ve never picked a job that paid below minimum wage since I was a teenager but 👌🏼 enjoy your irrelevant thoughts.
2
@BabyJesus-nz4nm 27:19 first taser deployment watch how she steps back and walks to the other side of the door in which he responded by slamming it. The second charge after McCowan told her to get his seat belt is when you hear her yelling stop and say I just got tased. Either way like you and I have both said tasers are useless they need to be done away with.
2
@sarahbrinkman2030 I would probably feel safer at a hospital than home if that were the reason for being discharged so soon as it would be a public place, harder to find the individual patient whereas home wouldn’t be that hard to locate someone. And I don’t doubt for a second she is struggling with her demons now she will never be the same and will probably struggle with PTSD the rest of her life which is something I would never wish on anyone as it is very debilitating. But I firmly stand by what I’ve said on here as well as other posts about how the traffic stop was handled, how BCSO needs to do better with their academies and training as well as the fact that tasers need to be done away with. I promise you this video will be used going forward on “what not to do” during traffic stops. It’s sad but this was preventable in so many ways.
2
@waywardsonsgamerclan it doesn’t matter if weed is legal in other states. This isn’t another state it is Tennessee where it is still illegal and quite frankly I hope it remains illegal. He was driving erratically and could have killed a motorist driving in the lane of oncoming traffic. She had every right to pull him over. From there the traffic stop was handled poorly and BCSO needs to evaluate their academies/training. Tasers need to be done away with. Both of them had every right to lawfully draw their handguns before it got to that point and neither one of them did. DeHart had the upper hand unfortunately but now he is probably wishing he had just took the charges for felony possession as he will never be free again to strut around like he owns this county.
2
Exactly. He’s a kitty cat. Can’t say the real word I might get banned 😯
2
@anthonythompson9471 keep it up 😂 technology is a wonderful thing to track people when they commit crimes. Ask Kenny about it next time you may get a chance to speak with him. Keep on with those threats won’t be hard to trace them back to you 😮😂
2
Oh jeez 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ he was more than swerving. What if he hit one of your relatives head on killing them in a wreck while BCSO was casually driving along behind him not pulling him over? Assaulted? He failed to comply if there’s probably cause COMPLY but he knew if he did they’d search the vehicle and find his gun he wasn’t even supposed to have as he was a felon. You’re part of the problem with society.
2
That is just beyond messed up in every way. Horrible way to die for her and embarrassing way to die for him. Other than that I’m at a loss for words. What a horrible bizarre accident
2
@Bettlesnap156 saved me the time and trouble from having to attempt to educate someone with little to no brain cells thank you for that 😌
2
Pump those brakes and slow down let’s go over this shall we? Did she pull the trigger to deharts gun? No. With that being said with proper training and handling of the situation it would not have gotten to the point that it did. The erratic driving absolutely pull him over. Conversing with his grandma on the phone? Pass. Bringing up the odor of weed before backup arrived? No she should have waited. Leaning into his passenger side window especially with the vehicle running? Absolutely not he could have floored it injuring her or shot her before she had a chance to react. Reaching into the vehicle leading to a physical struggle? NO. Especially with a live taser deployed at that point (hence her getting shocked). At what point were either of them going to draw their guns when it escalated more and more? BCSO training and academy failed both of these deputies. Period. If they had better training and perhaps fto experiences with situations like this it could have gone very differently. Ultimately it is Kenny deharts fault period. But her actions as well as her partners may be rest in peace did not help matters unfortunately. It’s very sad.
2
@tgrip9398 that’s what they call him around here 🙄 Kenneth Wayne DeHart aka k Wayne
