  1. Thanks for a very informative video. I am a somewhat apprehensive flyer. It has gotten worse; as I get older. Your description of what is occurring upon approaching an airport and what occurs as you land is very helpful. I have had two scary landings. When I experienced a 'go around;' that is the most scared I have been in a commercial airline landing. I was flying into Pensacola, FL. We had some turbulence prior and there were storm clouds we came through. I was already scared. For me the blessing that day was; I was sitting next to a young man who was about to begin training to become a commercial airline pilot. As we approached the runway; the wings starting tipping to left to right. I was freaking out; the young man next to me calmed me down. He said we were experiencing 'cross-wind' and that commercial pilots were well trained to handle this. But, then as we got quite close to the runaway; the plane accelerated and the nose tipped up and we were climbing away from the runway. Then I really got scared; again, this wonderful young man calmed me down. He said, the pilot decided it was not safe to land and we were doing a go-round. To this day, I can't believe how lucky I was to be sitting next to that kind and compassionate young man. A side effect of that young calming me down was a couple sitting in front of us; must have been listening to his conversation. When we stood up to disembark; they thanked him for calming me down. They said it helped them feel better as well to hear his description of what was going on.
