  2. The specific plate composition of SLI batteries doesn't gas a lot anyway at alternator voltages. That's why most wet car batteries are sealed now and 'maintenence' free, they don't gas the water out the electrolyte like batteries from times gone did.

  3. It's an emergency over pressure vent though for situations like severe overheating from an internal short in the battery. Not for normal gassing like 'wet batteries' The oxygen and hydrogen produced in an AGM recombined to water again inside it - otherwise they wouldn't last more than 6 months.

  4. That's nothing to do with your battery, you've got something else derpy going on. Nothing special about AGM's it's just lead acid with the electrolyte absorbed into glass matting.

  5. If you want to be technical, NONE! it doesn't store electricity. It produces electricity through a chemical reaction. Once that chemical reaction is depleted, the batteries flat.

  6. Personally I prefer those adjustable carbon pile battery testers. You can't beat the results of actually putting the correct high amp load on the battery but YOU have to interpret the results. The electronic/digital testers are just conveniant/take the thinking out of it.
