Pretty much all of them, that's why they pulled out. Insurance companies ain't dummies and a whole lot more switched on than the local government - they are the absolute masters of calculating risk. So if you can't get insurance - that's the biggest red flag, they know things you don't 😉

@DonaldAtherton-l7u 100% agree. Although insurance companies do tend to be quite tight lipped about that side of things. But one thing's for certain, they would have taken note of the states lack of forestry management, the failure to sign the reservoir construction bills, the DEI hiring of the fire service, the budget cuts to the fire service, the ridiculous levels of state bureaucracy/permits required to rebuild a property - they see everything. CA has basically legislated itself to death.

Yeah, you could have just tarped the roof in the interim.

@laserflexr6321Â You summed it up far more eloquently then I ever could. I'm not deliberately trying to poke at the OP, but this is a problem with society now. People don't want to take responsibility for the immediate aftermath. It's like they just want to throw their hands up and say "not my problem now, it's down to the insurance". After a storm, people forget many people in the same area are going to have roof damage so it's likely going to be some time before the ball gets rolling.

@JimiSparx-yw3gb True, but that isn't exactly the case with LA. The issue was the insurance companies couldn't charge more because the state wouldn't let them so they took their ball and went home
