@gerryspang5917 You do know Scandinavian countries are like the Alberta in terms of climate right? 🤣

@gerryspang5917 Well, Scania and Volvo are used in and off road for logging in Scandinavia all the time 🤷♂️. And currently they are allowed to legally run at 64 tonnes (140K pounds) on the road. Sweden in particular had the highest permitted gtw limits in Europe, it's what kicked off the horsepower race in the 1960's/70's. The Scandinavians needed the horse power.

I swear i can sense the pain of some of these American drivers having to admit the euro box might just be better 😂

@jone8626 It is true the US is way behind but sometimes I think the UK/Europe is far too over the top. A lot of the regulation has made it impossible for single owner operators to exist.
4
Lol, that ain't gonna fly with any manufacturer - If you're a dealer they're going to want you to supply their imported genuine parts.
4
@mr4lergia And how much do they cost compared to a regular production line model?
4
That plate that says VM motori? Thats the manufacturer of that engine. VM are one of the largest diesel engine manufacturers you've never heard of - mainly because most there engines are built for other manufacturers to rebrand as their own - including a lot of car manufacturers.

I can never understand why self tracking trailers havent caught on in the USA. As someone from the UK i understand why you have such ridiculous axle spacing on your heavy haul trailers (bridge laws ect) but the lack of actual steering axles makes no sense to us. I see so many videos on YouTube of US truckers struggling to get a regular size lowboy around an inner city corner and cant help think if they had self tracking trailer axles they'd it'd slip right around that corner without the driver even having to think.

Shit happens man. Tbh I'd be more pissed about the land owner who sold it to you than the actual owner - I suspect they knew damn well it wasn't theirs to sell, hence the less than scrap value price. A couple of the good tyres are worth more than what you paid for it. The fact they were so willing to buy back off you so quick says to me they sold it, then sat on the money waiting to see if there was any come backs. The main thing is your gonna get your return of investment back - I'd work a bit extra in too 😉 My old man got caught out a couple of times (self employed forklift tech) with machines he bought - didn't know they were stolen rental machines until he went to get parts from the dealer and the serial numbers flagged up 🤦♂️.

@Mixer2994 You will probably find it's thirsty if you try to run it at 70+ mph European trucks are set up so the economy sweet spot is 50-60mph

It's not a Deutz, it's a VM

That concept art pic was exactly what I imagined he wanted to do with it. It's gonna end up a US truck with a Scania cab 🤦♂️.

If its building air pressure really quickly that's normally a good sign the air receivers are full of water 😂

And he's going to get paid for the work he did and the money back he paid for the loader - given the complexity of the situation that's a 150% win! The real dispute is between the land owner and the original machine owner.
2
Good luck with that because they ended production of the T series bull nose cabs in 2005.

Here in the UK they have a formal annual inspection every year once they hit 3 years old. Trucks in commercial use also have to have documented safety inspection by a competent person every 6 weeks.
1
@AlexKall 6x2 probably the most common set up in the UK 🇬🇧 just because that extra lift axle allows you to run at 44 instead of 40 tonnes.

@butchphillips873 Who's ragging on farmers? 😂 Do you know any farmers who can do open heart surgery?
1
Try here in the UK. Formal 'ministry' inspections yearly once a truck hits 3 years old. Any truck used commercially has to have a documented safety inspection by a competent/qualified person every 6 weeks!

I'd say she's going on a lowboy straight to the nearest Ritchie Brothers parking lot.

@johnweatherford5760 The only people who could have done that were the land owners of where the loader was parked - clearly they didn't.

@michaelbisgaardlaursen Yeah, I've work in the forklift industry most my life (mechanic) and am currently just setting up my own business. The forklift industry is a bad example - I've never known any other industry where a dealer sells aftermarket parts for their product, it isn't the norm. Plus I've known plenty of forklift companies charge genuine prices and supply aftermarket with the customer being unaware. You can't go to a Ford dealer and buy a non genuine filter, same with truck companies as well and most any industry that has a dealer network. The aftermarket industry has to step in on its own accord - why is Scania going to assist you in removing sales revenue from their corporate coffers? Plus it devalues the brand. And you're correct, Scania doesn't make its own filters, they'll be someone Mann or Hummel but they'll have Scania printed on them 😉

Plenty of twin drive bogies available in Europe, used on rigid tippers, and tractors units in heavy haul or waste/recycling work.
1
Wouldn't be so out of place either. Here in the UK a lot of Scania's are 6x2. Either have a single tyre lift axle infeont of the drive or a dual tyre lift behind the drive.

@michaelrussell4254 Because it is something out of the 60's 😂

In europe, with a tri-axle trailer you'd be able to gross at 40,000kg (88,000 pounds). If it was a 3 axle tractor with a tri-axle trailer it could gross 44,000kg (96,800 pounds).
