Funny how 'new brainwave engines' always see to be old ideas revisited - very rare we see something new. The MOST commercially succesful opposed piston diesel was the rootes/commer TS3 (TS = tilling Stevens). Fitted to commer trucks. It was a 2 stroke 3 cylinder unit. On the whole it was fairly solid and reliable. It didn't have two crankshafts though, it used huge rocker arms connected to a common center crankshaft.

Another big problem that never seems to be addressed is that depleting the battery in an hour is EXTREMELY hard on the battery itself, regular pack cycles of this nature are going to shorten its life exponentially. And 250kw chargers? 🤣 Forget it, fine at the moment while ev's on a whole population scale are still essentially a novelty item. On a mass level? The grid nevers going to able to output or handle that level of power.

I skip gears when driving in snow, driving in a van in the uk they are normally now 6 speed, use 2-4-6 to keep in a higher gear for minimal wheel spin.
