You think 400,000 tonnes is a big number, it isn't. That's 25kg of wheat harvested for each single person. A tiny country like here in the UK harvested 11 million tonnes of wheat in 2024 for a population of 69 million which is 160kg of wheat harvested for each single person - 6.5 times as much per capita. And we still have to import some extra to keep the country fed (About a million tonnes a year on average).
