@Inzersdorf93 I mean if you had to start pointing out unfair wealth acquisition in videos about royal families, you’d never be able to finish a sentence

It is a shame we have a monarchy to begin with
9
@multifandomnerd1328 Do you have to like Stalin to watch a video about him?
7
@Arjonko I don’t see that happening, Dutch people are very prone to accept the status quo, it would have to take a massive upset
5
@noorbohamad5796 No lmao, that isn’t how it works
4
@Rockstone1969 Which is actually a ridiculous notion, like those kids could change their mind on their own too. Plus at this point Catholics are actually the biggest religious group in the country
2
Magna Frisia is not really relevant for this. It was the Franks who would become the Dutch who drove them out of most of the area to begin with The Orange-Nassau family is centuries after this happened and thwy have literally nothing to do with it
2
It wasn’t, they officially left the HRE in 1648, but functionally they had left when their independence war started

@Ramen.4.life0 mostly post 1066, at least in my experience
2
Also the south (Flemish and Brabtine cities) were more so centers of the reformation than the North, and many people from cities like Antwerp fled North
2
And the Batavii have very little to do with the Dutch people to begin with
2
@Arjonko Willem-Alexander is incredibly bad at pr, but these poll numbers mean nothing. They will probably go up again, and there is absolutely no political nor popular desire to get rid of those leeches
1
>not having outdated rules >parliament approved royal marriages 🤡
1
@apveening I recommend you read again what I said. Non-religious is not a religious group.

@gijsv8419 We should just also have labor day, fucking right wing governments

@antonius3745 Just because they weren’t a kingdom doesn’t mean they were in the HRE, they weren’t. And the HRE had a Kingdom as a constituent member, Bohemia. So being a kingdom didn’t even mean you can’t be in the HRE They weren’t an autonomous part of the HRE, they weren’t in it. They paid no homage to the Emperor and had no obligations to an Emperor either. They just had nothing to do with it, and the Netherlands existed for centuries before the HRE was dissolved. In 1815 the southern Low Countries were added though, as they had remained part of the HRE

@antonius3745 Lmao Are these documents in the room with us right now?
1
@zohlandt No it doesn’t, it comes from place-holder. The fact that it sounds like city-holder now is just a coincidence
1
@zohlandt Just because a word sounds like something in the modern doesn’t mean that is what it meant. It comes from place-holder (like the German Statt) and not city. You being Dutch doesn’t change that lmao

@arjenlaan4103 I mean in my opinion the Batavii aren’t even that great. We know little about them and at best they were Roman auxiliaries. The dutch nation is however a direct continuation of the Frankish one, and we hardly ever claim them. So it isn’t like we couldn’t do better hahaha
1
@oilslick7010 Probably not related to the Dutch all and definitely overshadowed by later Franks (and Frisians and Saxons) ✅
