  1. Not worth the risk. Better to use what they recommend or dissemble the engine do parts clean and evaluate the condition of the parts rings etc to determine what needs replacing. Most times if a mower riding or other wise is let’s say ten years or better might be due to cost to replace the engine all together. But things like compression rings to oil rings may come out cheaper in the long run. Up to owner.
