  1. A $38,000 home in 1965? Wow. My parents got a similar deal when they bought their home in SoCal back in 1977, paying $39,000 for a home they later sold in 2015 for $500,000. Dad had the midas touch when it came to real estate, never losing a dime and paying off the mortgage. Somewher along the line homeowners looked at real estate as some sort of investment that you buy and sell and turn a short term profit on; rather than a place to raise a family and create stability with.

  3. @lilbrother45  those were great times to be investing in real estate. Not so much now. Prices are outrageous and I feel horrible for renters trying to get their foot in the door while paying rent...
