This just goes to show how lazy some Americans are, always looking for handouts and giveaways. Andrew Yang is just an enabler who must think money grows on trees.

Kevin Warburton What Yang is proposing is just a long-term subsidy to mostly uneducated retail and blue collar workers who lack the education and skills to compete in what is quickly becoming a more automated work environment, an environment requiring less manual labor and more technical ability. This is not going to motivate someone to adapt and evolve with the times; but rather languish and get on the government dole looking for another handout. Do you support that? Whenever someone offers you something for free, run in the opposite direction. It's not really free, because those dollars have to come from somewhere and from someone who actually produces stuff.

Lukas Martin Navidad Well, If you support what Yang proposes, then you should vote for Donald Trump next year, because he has already created a subsidy for the American farmers. Ask any farmer if he/she is content receiving government money (which, by the way, is another form of socialism), rather than selling their goods in the open market as capitalism and free trade allow. We already have too many lazy, disenfranchised people as it is enrolled in EBT, welfare, and Section 8. We don't need more people on the government dole waiting for their handout every week.This is nothing more than a cheap stunt from Yang looking to get the blue collar vote. If you didn't work for that dollar in your pocket, then somebody else did.

@BelleCaliMusic I never said it was fair. It seems to be en vogue now to attack Amazon, when, in fact, other blue chip companies have also used loopholes in the tax law to avoid paying taxes. General Electric is another one. From my limited understanding, Amazon has not reported any profits and is using their capital to expand their business ventures. Jeff Bezos' wealth is tied directly to the share price of Amazon, so if Amazon shares go to zero tomorrow, so will his net worth.

@bullycat_kickz5198 It's a ZERO SUM GAME. Why don't you ask yourself Who will fix those machines and robots when they require maintenance? Who will design those robots? Who will program those new robots, etc.? The workforce will not decrease, it will just become more specialized and require advanced learning and skills. You need to take your tinfoil hat off. Technology is what it is, and subsidizing those who are unable to adapt to it is not the answer. And if you're so afraid and concerned about those workers who are being replaced, then go ahead and pay your bills and send your messages the old way by stamp and envelope instead of using the computer and email.

@unchartered360 If it involves free giveaways, then, by nature, it will create a population of slothful, underachieving citizens who know they can depend on Uncle Sam for their sustenance. No, this is not the American way. Yang thinks giving away money will solve the issue, and it will not. Do you really think someone who does not understand the value of money will ever use it wisely if it is GIVEN to them with out anything required in return? No. Chances are, they will spend it and create more long-term debt for themselves. If someone offers you free (anything), you should probably run in the opposite direction. "A fool and his money are soon parted."

@unchartered360 If you did not work for it, then it is a giveaway. UBI is just doublespeak for another government handout or subsidy. Most people tend to go into debt with their own money. What do you think will happen when they are given money every month?
