Being a motorcycle officer has to be ranked as one of the most dangerous jobs in the department. They're sharing the road with large vehicles and have zero protection. And so many drivers are unhinged and frustrated with traffic, gas prices, etc. Horrible combination. RIP to this hero.

Look at all those Asian teens get out of that car...oh, wait a minute, they're not Asian, or white, or hispanic...what could they be?
45
Beautiful work by Robert Vargas.
44
Most motorcyclists are rude and arrogant weaving in and out of lanes.
44
This was a simple case obfuscated by the defense attorneys and a very entitled woman who probably never felt accountable for anything and thought her wealth would buy her freedom.
40
Being a firefighter requires little education and pays very well, with an excellent pension. This guy probably got his job via nepotism and should be fired immediately. Maybe he'll then realize he should have just kept his racist mouth shut.
30
The first mistake was bringing a knife to a gun fight. Full video is on LAPD website.

Here's the thing: The Dodgers appeared to pull yet another classless move by telling her they were not going to authenticate it--essentially rendering the ball worthless the minute they leave the stadium--unless they traded it in for much less valuable memorabilia. I would have left the stadium immediately and told the Dodgers FU: Let the unauthenticated ball's value go to zero.
26
Please don't be lazy with your report and identify which of the two women in the picture was the victim. It would reduce the confusion.
25
Every year, it seems another part of my childhood leaves me. Willy Mays, Pete Rose, Fernando Valenzuela....gone but never forgotten...
19
Lots of gold diggers with broken hearts today.
14
Alex Villanueva says all the right things...but crime was rampant and off-the-rails under his stewardship. This guy is a loose cannon.
10
How awful must your life be if you feel the need to pick a fight with a fruit vendor trying to make some money?
9
@HJ-jy7fw Dodgers are completely classless. My guess is the team/league was expecting Shohei to hit his 1st HR at any time, and used balls that were already secretly marked for authentication purposes. They lied to her just to get the ball in their possession. Cheap move.
9
May the families and friends of all the victims find the strength to endure this horrible tragedy.
9
I hope his property escapes the damage. This catastrophe has once again exposed how inadequate our infrastructure is. Assuming emergency responders will be there when you need them is a risky proposition.
8
Are Vietnamese diners allowed at his new restaurant?
6
This spokesperson is not very helpful.
5
@HJ-jy7fw ...which proves that championships cannot be bought but must be earned. Dodgers shamelessly tried to buy a world series this off-season, and I'm just hoping they fail again.
4
Don't worry, folks. LeBron James and Al Sharpton will release statements condemning this act of violence.....nevermind.
4
Obviously a bright woman. Why did she waste her talents and her UCLA degree on a teaching career??
4
He has done nothing wrong, has he? Relying on a 13-year old's statements is pure hearsay.
4
@jusrayne You mean the woman on the right, then. Thanks.
4
Sounds like LAPD should prepare to lawyer up.
3
NatalieR-nu5bp The deal is done. I would have insisted on field level season tickets for the next two years AT LEAST. Otherwise I would have left with the ball and it would have been worthless. I'll bet some employee of the Dodgers would have stopped them from leaving and agreed to the deal. Eff the Dodgers.
3
@RunForPeace-hk1cu I would have taken close-up pictures of the ball and doing whatever I could to show provenance--maybe getting names of the fans surrounding me. I would have asked for field level season tickets for the next 3-4 years; and if they said no, I would have walked out. I'll bet they would have stopped me before I left...
3
politics has zero to do with this, but nice try.
2
@boostedmaniac That's baloney. First of all, the wage increase only applies to larger fast-food chains with at least 60 restaurants nationwide. It will have zero impact on smaller mom-and pop restaurants. You don't think MCD or SBUX has enough to pay their employees a few dollars extra? If they leave, that restaurant would quickly be purchased by some other establishment. No big deal.
2
I think I know the ethnicity of the criminals--and they're not Asian or white. I'm sure Fox is banned from saying it. Why even report it?
2
How do you say, "you're fired," in French? Anyone?
2
NatalieR-nu5bp Why wouldn't it be true? That baseball is historical in its own way and may wind up in the hall-of-fame some day. Management said they would not authenticate it, which means the value drops to zero once they leave the stadium. These two got suckered into making an egregious deal. My guess is that couple would have received six figure offers had it been authenticated and they were allowed to leave with it.
2
I don't give a damn about this crazy person's mental illness. Maybe his family should have kept him institutionalized or taken his car keys away. And why did they allow this moron to have several weapons? He knew what he did was bad because he sped off and tried to avoid arrest. Even if you have schizophrenia you understand right from wrong.
2
Sorry, Christina. But I saw no woman with a child. Did I miss something?
2
More FOMO and unemployed fans trying to not miss the action. Kike, the Dodgers, and Raising Canes don't care a fig about these people.
2
How many lawsuits did the county of Los Angeles have to settle under Mr. Villanueva's time as Sheriff?
2
@ScottCleve33 You can go stuff your face with Big Macs every day if you feel so bad for MCD. The only ones showing faux outrage at this are investors, fund managers, and Wall Street. Go study.
1
@946towguy2 Panera Bread is NOT owned by a Newsom supporter. The person you're referring to is Greg Flynn, a franchisee who operates 24 locations. This is a phony controversy, either way. I hope MCD and SBUX all go out of business. They are a blight wherever they are located and only bring loitering, traffic, junk food, and low paying jobs. Good riddance.
1
I'd like to hear the whole story. Cop is probably tired of arresting the same people over and over again and just snapped. Wrong but understandable. I just wonder if these do-gooders would have been filming if the cop was black and the suspect white.
1
@handsuporillshoot381 merci beaucoup
1
Ask Larry Elder how well the previous recall effort went. Fires were tragic...but not Gavin's or Bass's fault. It was a force majeure incident. Move on.
1
@ElLuis3 And they would have escorted you off the premises. I would have taken as many close-up photos of the ball as possible, showing scuff marks and every detail. Also, I would have asked for names of other fans around you. Anything to show proof it is the real thing when/if she tries to sell it.
1
NatalieR-nu5bp I heard what the Dodgers did. But it's still not a fair deal. This couple are friendly and appear to be really nice people--which are usually the first ones to get taken advantage of. I would have insisted on much more.
1
@ElLuis3 If someone is going to pay $100,000 for a baseball, there can be no doubt about its authenticity. The minute she left the stadium without authenticating it, there are doubts. I'm sure MLB used pre-authenticated balls with special DNA embedded in them and a proprietary process of confirming its authenticity. They just didn't tell this woman.
1
Moron. He should stay out of California and go hang out in Texas or Mississippi or some other southern state where he belongs.
1
Why do we allow these pure animals to roam around free in society--especially when he had prior felonies? I just don't get it. This trash ruined so many lives. Why is it so hard for these people to behave and not act like animals? Why?
1
The same people that want to start removing items from their lots right away...are the same ones who will be suing the city for the emphysema, COPD, and lung cancer they suffer from a decade from now.
1
Alcohol = Truth Serum. It reveals all the nastiness people have inside them.
1
That's what makes the U.S. so great. Even an entitled, rich worm like Rebecca Grossman had her day in court. Hopefully she spends the rest of her life in prison.
1
@mayakattt3475 This is still a volunteer position in many cities throughout the country. They are public servants and earn a paycheck through the taxpayers while driving around in their trucks and sitting around at their fire stations. That guy doesn't know how lucky he is (was) to have such a job.
1
@NaturalizationAct1790 Who was the one that got out of his vehicle? Who is the one working for the city/county, and getting paid by the taxpayers?
1
It will be a miracle if this firefighter keeps his job. He obviously has problems with a large percentage of minorities in the state. I'm sure the Trump campaign or Cracker Barrel would love to hire him...
1
@Herbie11 I know, those Norwegian teens are nothing but trouble, always robbing and carjacking, and then pulling the race card when they get profiled!
1
Bass signed executive directives...as soon as she came back from Ghana.
1
That area south of MLK is a complete rat hole.
1
That cholo with the black shorts looked like a Canelo opponent the way he got knocked down.
1
Nobody asked this guy for his political beliefs. Is he a public servant, or a Trump lackey? Did he film this during paid work hours sitting by the side of the road?
1
If he was truly sorry, he would not have left the scene of the crime and taken full responsibility for his actions. It's a hollow apology. He is a worthless human and belongs in prison.
1
Agree with Mayor Bass. There are lots of dangerous potential toxins in the soil that need to be remediated. It would be dumb for someone to go back to their property and start moving things and breathing contaminants, like the POTUS is encouraging.
1
@MC-ht6lw Oh, yeah. I forgot I was talking about the same genius who wanted everyone to inject themselves with a disinfectant to prevent the spread of covid. Maybe you should have tried it, since he's your buddy.
1
What sort of "New Evidence" has been discovered after 35 flippin years? Lol. This must be a Mark Geragos case; you know, the same guy who represented that other little angel, Scott Peterson.
1
It sounds like the reporter has a brain disease. Please show some respect and get the pronunciation correct, Fox.
1
Grossly over-priced merchandise is all I see whenever I go in one of those 7-Eleven stores. The're a blight on the community and magnet for transients and loitering. Nobody should be stealing, but...I couldn't care less.
1
I believe in free competition. But these street vendors need to be regulated just like the brick and mortars, who have to pay property taxes, insurance, repairs, as well as fees and permits to operate a legitimate business. It's not fair that someone gets to set up their fly-by-night tent, block sidewalks, and operate as a business selling food.
1
The state is too big and should probably be broken up into North and South. Sacramento is far away and we need a seat of government closer to where we live. Chad is saying all the right things here.
