  1. I believe in free competition. But these street vendors need to be regulated just like the brick and mortars, who have to pay property taxes, insurance, repairs, as well as fees and permits to operate a legitimate business. It's not fair that someone gets to set up their fly-by-night tent, block sidewalks, and operate as a business selling food.
