...and he LOST to just about all of them too. You forgot that. Oscar was a very popular fighter. A hall-of-famer? Not even close.

@lilpenny1982 Arguably...arguably...arguably...arguably....well, he arguably lost to Ike Quartey, Pernell Whitaker, and he definitely was gifted a decision against Felix Sturm. His best wins were against a washed up senior citizen Julio Cesar Chavez, and face-first Fernando Vargas and Rafael Ruelas. Big deal.

@lilpenny1982 Should be...should be...should be...all of Oscar's losses should be wins, right? There's an excuse for everything...Oscar was just an average fighter who was marketed correctly by Bob Arum. He lost his biggest fights and that's that. Sorry you're such a fan of his. He wasn't that good.

@lilpenny1982 doesn't matter. Lots of fighters in the HOF that don't deserve to be. Think for yourself.

@code44422 Like I said, the great part of Oscar's career was that he faced many all-time greats. The bad news? He lost to just about all of them. Please name me one great fighter Oscar defeated who was in his prime? Julio Cesar Chavez was 34 and washed-up already; and guys like Fernando Vargas and Rafael Ruelsas were just glorified, face-first brawlers. Are you just giving Oscar credit for trying? I'll wait....

@code44422 It must be nice to suspend reality and reverse official decisions like you're doing. Oscar was merely an average to above-average fighter. He lost too many fights to rank as an all-time great. He's not even the best fighter to come out of Southern California--that would be Shane Mosley, who defeated him twice.

Name me one elite level fighter in his prime that Oscar beat... @code44422

It's DAVID Benavidez...not JOSE Benavidez. Oscar's on drugs, I think.

The great part of Oscar's career: He fought just about all the great fighters in his era. The bad part of Oscar's career: He lost to just about all the great fighters of his era. Oscar was a good fighter. Great? Not even close. Unless we give credit for losing to all-time greats.
