  1. Being religious is ipso facto incompatible with being a scientist, and believing in the scientific method. Religion is based primarily on faith, which requires nothing more than blind, unquestioning belief. Science is the opposite. It requires proof and asks questions. It would be quite scary to know the surgeon operating on me relied on faith more than on scientific principles and training. Or that the bridge i drive over, the plane I fly on, or the medicine I take, was created by people who relied on faith rather than sound medical and/scientific principles. Religion is really academic, scientific, and statistical nonsense. Just my opinion.
