He's an 18-fight monster that nobody knows. He still has to prove himself in my opinion.

@aidantierney3362 Sure, if he wants to join Bud fighting on ESPN for peanuts.

Two anonymous undisputed champions--one former and one current.

@aidantierney3362 "Numerous...". The only two guys Taylor has beaten are a face-first Regis Prograis who will probably never win another major belt; and Ramirez, which was a foul-plagued fight with Taylor throwing shots below the belt and during breaks. Unifying did nothing for Terence Crawford. It will do less for Taylor unless he starts fighting more frequently against better opposition.

@vincemeyers2064 Name me one reputable boxing source that considers Bud to be #1 P4P. I'm not talking about other BLM sources on youtube that call themselves experts either. I'll wait. You sound like just another BLM hater who can't handle what's happening in boxing. You can call Bud #1 if you want. It just sounds ridiculous and tells me you're an angry, jealous fan who is too dumb to accept what your eyeballs are seeing. Would you have Bud #1 if he didn't share the same race as you?

@dirtybags4282 Taylor came over here to the states for the Ramirez fight and acted like a complete donkey during the promotion. The fact that he's undisputed after only 18 fights tells me there are too many sanctioning bodies with mediocre champions holding belts.

@E0572-e1n Man, I almost did a spit take when I read your post. I'm guessing Bud has never made anywhere near 6 million for a fight. He probably topped out in his last fight with Kell Brook for maybe half that amount. Certainly less than what Errol made for either Mikey Garcia or Porter. Where are you getting your numbers from, guy?
1
@vincemeyers2064 You can call him whatever you want. If you think a guy who fights once a year against clubfighters is P4P, that's your business. I can call myself the President of the United States. But that doesn't make it true.

@vincemeyers2064 I've been a fan for a long, long time. Sorry to disagree with you, but Bud is nothing special. He's a 34-year-old blown-up 140-pounder. He stands out because there just aren't many good welterweights right now. Him and Errol both think they're A-sides, so that fight will never be made. And Porter is nothing more than a doormat at 147. The fact that Bud has been cherry picking and fighting so infrequently tells me he'll be fighting well into his 30's or perhaps 40's looking for a big check to cash. He's a great fighter, but he's not PPV material and nobody outside of Omaha knows who the dude is. And it's his fault.

@vincemeyers2064 Belts are overrated and really meaningless nowadays. There are too many sanctioning bodies and mediocre fighters calling themselves champions--just like all the bums Canelo is fighting. The fact that you're pointing out all the belts Bud has touched tells me you just recently picked up the sport. Bud unified 140 and thought it would make him a PPV star, and it didn't. He's still fighting for relative peanuts. He was completely mismanaged by Arum, who kept him in Omaha. I like Bud, but don't bring up all his meaningless belts. He won his WBO belt by beating up a schoolteacher in Jeff Horn. How much honor is in that??

@vincemeyers2064 Manhandled Pacquiao? Lol. Man, go follow tennis or something. You know nothing about boxing, bro.
1
@bfc2155 Doesn't mean anything. Taylor can walk down any street in America and nobody would know who the dude is. His last fight wasn't even broadcast in the U.K. How big can he be?
1
@bfc2155 So what. To be undisputed after only 18 fights tells me there's no talent at 140. Zab Judah and Cory Spinks were also undisputed. Does that make them better than FLoyd too? Try that for context.
1
@bfc2155 Do you KNOW the difference between KNOW and NO?
1
@vincemeyers2064 Who gets into prizefighting without the goal of being a PPV star? Dude, I think you have an extra chromosome.
1
@bfc2155 Your context is based on a false and ridiculous equivalency between Floyd Mayweather and Josh Taylor. Are you implying that because Taylor was fast-tracked and Floyd wasn't, that he's a superior fighter than Floyd? What was the purpose of your comment?
1
@bfc2155 I never said Taylor is not good, just overrated at this point. Used to be that a fighter used to have to really hone his craft through years of obscurity fighting on undercards and really perfecting their craft--guys like Canelo Alvarez and Marvin Hagler are prime examples. That's not the case anymore, which is why we're seeing so many pedestrian champions who never successfully defend their belts or have lengthy title reigns. There are several paths to becoming champion nowadays, due to the proliferation of all these meaningless, crooked sanctioning bodies like the WBC. Frankly, I pay little to no attention to belt holders nowadays, as they provide only a loose correlation to skill level. That is why we're seeing guys like Caleb Plant, Regis Prograis, and Fat Andy Ruiz win belts now and lose them quickly.
1
@bfc2155 Belts are now just cheap marketing tools used by promoters and networks so that they can call a fight a "title" fight and get people like you to tune in. Like I mentioned earlier, winning a WBC belt used to mean something...about 30 years ago, when guys like Marvin Hagler, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield were undisputed. Now? You have inferior, inexperienced guys like Taylor, and Teofimo calling themselves undisputed or unified or whatever after less than 20 fights. What a joke.
