  1. I don't understand why people are so quick to defend some of the largest global companies in the world. You don't think MCD or SBUX can afford to pay their employees a few extra dollars? This is a faux outrage at something which should have been done several years ago. Those corporations will do whatever they can to support the franchisees and owner-operators and will not allow those locations to go dark, because they know property values are too high. The only outrage is coming from investors, fund managers, and Wall Street, who are only interested in profits. They could all go belly-up for all I care.

  2. How will the state of California ever survive with a few less McDonald's fast-food restaurants?! The horror of it all. Fact is, all these restaurants contribute to most cities is blight, unhealthy food, and low-paying jobs. This story is a big nothing.
