  1. EXACTLY! His family owns 52% of shares in George Weston Ltd (controlly shareholder of Loblaws) which pays a quarterly dividend of $0.66/share. Thats approximately $195 million last year for his family. His $11 million salary is actually chump change to him.

  2. I am BEGGING more journalists reporting on Galen Weston's salary to mention that he is not just the CEO. HIS. FAMILY. OWNS. Loblaws. His salary is just a small fraction of what he is paid through stock dividends which was close to $200 million in 2022.

  3. I would love to see legislation which puts a cap on the ratio between the wage of the lowest paid employee at a company and the highest paid (probably the CEO). Put the cap at $1:$20.
