  1. Luckily a decent and kind person with integrity (rare these days) reported this. And thankfully he made so many mistakes that got him caught. Parents need to really act immediately if they think their kid may be dangerous. Thankfully 99.9% are just angst filled teenagers but for that 00.01% we as parents need to get them help before anything happens. I really hope his family and friends are dealing with this.

  3. Why are they (cops and social services) so nice when interviewing this "suspected" child abuser??!! And when a child dies they interview her in the stairwell at the motel and they're being super nice and polite if this woman would have had drugs and no one was ever hurt by them they would have had them on the ground, hand cuffed with armed swat team members around her screaming and yelling How is this okay??!! Enough treating violent offenders with a soft touch and treating nonviolent drug users like serial killers!

I mean if one of my kids wanted that at 16 I'd at least try to get a 72 hour psych hold? And why are parents so accommodating with the horror crap at such a young age? Idk I can't judge I have no idea what his parents did or didn't do but murdering your Mom for no reason? That is so disgusting and cowardly, even for a 16 year old.

  13. I understand the cops anger, but they should've acted better. If they're allowed to 'lose it' when they're angry then why can't everyone else? But regardless of what they did he blew away that women and her brother in cold blood then a cop there's no question of that. What happened to him was nothing compared to that, shit I'm a grandma and I've been hurt much worse than him and he's acting like a small child whining and crying?!! Please he's no tough guy!

  22. Her dad very well could've been a big jerk who absolutely did ridicule her but murdering him is not ok!? So many of these kids, especially girls who murder a parent do it because of a relationship, as a parent I can safely say the best way to rid your family of an unwanted boyfriend or girlfriend is to become their biggest admirer! Say how awesome they are, invite them over for dinner a lot and make your kid tell you all about them, while gushing. Trust me the relationship will be gone faster than French fries! I feel bad for Russell actually. There's no way he's faking and he allowed himself to be duped and dragged into a really bad situation. I really hope he gets some help and can become a better person but if he commits violent crimes then he needs to be behind bars. Thanks to all the other commenters, I appreciate reading everyone's thoughts about the case and people involved and throwing mine out there too. It helps to try and figure out why people do the things they do there's a lot of really insightful and intelligent people on here.

  25. People need to remember and completely understand that traveling does have dangers but so does staying put. Just always keep your wits about you and tell people if something weird happens and who and where it happened. Never get too intoxicated no matter where you are! Elise's case is very suspicious and I hope someday her family gets some truth. Supposedly there's a very powerful family in Thailand that everyone there says is responsible for a lot of crimes, especially against women but are too rich and powerful for prosecution.

  26. Disagree about substances increasing violence. There are 100% more people who commit violent crimes who are not on drugs than on. Alcohol is the worst if substances are a cause but we really can't say that they do or don't because no real studies have been done and how do we know if they aren't just a violent person who happens to be on a substance??   31. Well there's homeschool because of religion and nonreligious reasons. Also some that homeschool still require their kids to get social interaction through joining sports or other groups of kids or travel and meet other cultures and that seems to make a big difference.

  44. I've read that psychologically a traumatic event can halt emotional development and he sounds like his was halted at the age when this was committed. If I didn't know, after listening to him here I'd guess he was 18-20 years old. Just like sexual fantasies the reality is never like the fantasy and until you've experienced that you believe the reality will be exactly like what is fantasized. I can only think it's the same for any fantasy because I've seen other young people who have wanted to murder someone say how much they wish they never did it because it was nothing like what they thought and wasn't worth losing their freedom at all. He is right when he said if they never met this wouldn't have happened, as the French say Folks à deux or folly of two. Just so sad and preventable, wish we had better mental health care in schools!
