  1. In the 1960s school buses used to stop on one side of the street and if kids lived on the other side they would have to cross, even if it was a highway. My father was the attorney that represented a family of a child who while crossing the street was hit and killed. They won the lawsuit and changed (federally) the law where buses have to drop kids off on the same side.of the street they live on, I'm really proud of him for that. This was just tragic all the way around.
