@gbvoul if Biden did not reverse Trump's policy, that inherently means that Trump's plan was flawed. Therefore they are BOTH to blame. For Biden to reverse the policy, he would have to actually send in MORE troops, because Trump's withdrawal had reduced the troops from 15,000 to 2,500 by Jan 20 when Biden entered office. Increasing the troops at that point would have violated the agreement signed by Trump. The taliban could have responded by attacking & possibly killing American troops. So either way, it was a sh1t sandwich.

MicroNova if you "but muh free-dumb" types followed the pandemic protocols, the pandemic would not be an issue anymore. Besides there's a difference between Biden, who actually tried to do something, and Trump's willful negligence & ineptitude.

Let's not conveniently ignore the hundreds of thousands of American lives lost due to Trump's inept handling of the greatest national security threat to the nation since Pearl Harbor -- the pandemic -- while you are talking about people falling from planes.

@katr4864 - firstly, Trump's withdrawal date was May 1st -- last I checked, May comes before September. So Biden delayed the withdrawal date. 2nd, if there was a plan that existed taking into account harvests, that plan would be formulated by the Pentagon. Such plans are not made by presidents. Third, what are your sources for all these fantastical claims?

@katr4864 you say Trump drew down the troops from 15-20,000. By Jan 15, only 2,500 remained. So why did he not start the evacuation of civilians all last year while he was reducing the troop presence?

@katr4864 1) the spring/winter time frames are used for military operations, not civilian withdrawal. 2) he was planning to start withdrawing civilians in spring & continue in winter? Huh? How is that possible with a May 1st deadline? 3) if spring & winter were the only safe times, how was he able to draw down the 15-20,000 troops all thru last year? Looks like you got your talking points crossed.

@katr4864 lol Pompeo is a partisan hack. Anything that comes out of his lying mouth is worse than sewage. You might want to look into Pompeo's role in the negotiations with Taliban leader Mullah Baradar -- who was in a Pakistani jail until the Trump administration sprung him free in 2018. And Pompeo's role in pushing the Afghan government to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners. The reason the Afghan army simply walked away is now becoming clear. The Trump administration basically caved to the Taliban, & sold out the Afghan government, in return for a promise not to harm US servicemen. John Ratliff, Trump's NSA, revealed that they were aware that the Afghan army would collapse. Not surprising given that negotiations with the taliban were conducted without involvement of the Afghan government. God knows the Right would be having a sh1t fit if any of this had been done by Biden.
