@scottaron949 there's a middle ground -- like what Bush Sr did in Kuwait. NATO issues an ultimatum to Russia to cease fire & withdraw. If not, they will implement a no-fly zone. What are Putin's options? 1. Abide 2. Engage NATO He clearly understands he cannot defeat NATO, so he will not engage. At the very least he will cease fire but not withdraw. If he does engage, make it clear that his withdrawing troops will be safe once inside Russian borders. As long as there is an assurance of Russia’s safety & they will not be pursued inside their country, his need to go nuclear becomes moot.
