Well if he "only had access to faulty data", & he gets a pass, the same applies to the government officials who had to make decisions for entire populations. Right?

Common sense would dictate that you don't get on a crowded bus or in a crowded room during flu season, right? Extending that logic, you would want to keep away from people in a pandemic. So if we apply "common sense", then lockdowns were the correct preventative actions.

@roartary no sh1t, Sherlock. The empirical evidence for that has been presented after the fact. But common sense back then would have dictated that lockdowns prevent the spread of pathogens. Not too difficult to understand. Even for you.

@gypsypath1 yes I can 100% agree with that. That's a reasonable approach.

@louisedagenais1795 that comment is the embodiment of a face-palm

@johnboughen3064 only if you 100% don't want to get a flu, then yeah. But we were dealing with an unknown at the time, not the flu. About the border policy: what would you have done?

@dialucrii31 those "best minds" also relied on "flawed data". All the excuses posted on this thread that give Campbell a pass also give the others that erred a pass -- unless you or anyone can prove a group conspiracy that sought to intentionally & willfully mislead the public for nefarious purposes.
